What it is: As the Senior Accountant, you’ll join a dynamic team supporting the coordination of the company's general accounting activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information. Major responsibilities include: full cycle accounting account analysis and reconciliation, cash application and collection efforts, exposure to billing systems as well as preparation and review of monthly financial reports. This role will be a significant contributor to the monthly financial close.
There will be focus on cross-functional training with Accounting and Finance as well as assistance for both internal and external audits.
What it isn’t: This role is not your traditional or mundane accounting job; if you don’t have an interest in improving procedures, then this role will not be a good fit. We love automation, technology and best practices. If you prefer lots of handwritten paper copies or fax machines, this role won’t make you happy. This role isn’t routine or unhurried. If you prefer relaxed, quiet days or don’t have a well-developed sense of urgency, it would be best to pass on us and keep looking.
What we need: We are looking for proof of your passion for Accounting. You’ll have a minimum of 2 years of Public Accounting or similar experience, including audit, corporate accounting or support services with a degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. Experience with the technology industry and SEC or public reporting is a plus. CPA track is desired. Prior experience in accounting closes, reconciliation of all types of accounts, and establishment of accounting and business processes is required.
We want someone who pays close attention to detail with high levels of accuracy in their work. You must have a positive attitude, willingness to learn new tasks, strong work ethic, uncompromising integrity, and personal humility.
You embrace technology (MS Office proficiency is just the beginning for you); working knowledge of Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics) software is a plus. We need excellence. This means your communication skills are stellar: you communicate professionally at all levels. We need innovation. This means you question the status quo and love asking “What if…?” We need teamwork. This means when a colleague asks “Can someone help me with…?” you’re quick to answer “Yes.” We need humility. This means you understand about lending a hand where necessary. We need integrity. This means you deliver results and don’t hesitate to acknowledge, own, and resolve errors you’ve made (we all make them, we just must learn from them).
